Art of The Amazigh Women
The weaving by the women of Morocco’s Berber community is one of the region’s most visible cultural exports and a core way these women support their communities fiscally. While many Berber women don’t traditionally read or write, they embed their stories in their rugs through symbolism in the rugs they weave. These symbols are often mirrored in tattoos on the bodies and faces, however it’s a tradition that is becoming harder and harder to find.
