Apple: The Frontier by Emmanuel ‘Chivo‘ Lubezki

For the iPhone 12 Pro keynote, I led a landmark project that marked the first time Apple created a film with a Hollywood director and director of photography. Working with my creative partner, we developed the concept, selected the director, and collaborated with three time Academy Award winner Emmanuel Chivo Lubezki, who shot the film on iPhone 12 Pro. I also directed the Making Of film, documenting Chivo’s process and the spirit of the shoot. The final piece, titled Frontier, follows a woman through the desert and its sweeping light, landscapes, people, and animals. The story captures the emotional and epic feeling of life in the American frontier and became a defining moment for Shot on iPhone, proving the creative potential of iPhone cinematography at the highest level.
